I'm Mason, a computer engineering senior on NC State's accelerated bachelor's–master's track. I enjoy hands-on debugging, understanding how a product works, and helping people make it work better.
I wanted to build the thing, not just the code running on top of it.
Computer engineering lets me work with the whole system: the circuit, the firmware, and the interface between them. I like tracing a problem from its symptoms to its cause, then testing whether the fix holds up.
Products people rely on
Consumer electronics interest me because the engineering reaches people directly. My summer on TI's battery-gauge team showed me how hardware choices and software integration affect the reliability of a finished product.
I'm now exploring those questions at a different scale through Lenovo-sponsored senior design: automated testing for datacenter liquid cooling systems. I'm looking for a Summer 2027 internship in hardware, embedded systems, or system integration.

A regular part of my routine and one of my favorite ways to reset.
Piano & making beats
I've played piano for years, and I also enjoy making beats in my free time.
Gaming with friends
Still the easiest way to stay in touch with people I don't see enough.
Volunteering
Giving back to the community that gave a lot to me growing up — part of why I'm an Eagle Scout.
Ask good questions, learn from the people around me, and put new ideas to work.
Understand the problem, test assumptions, and explain the solution clearly enough for someone else to use it.
